Kylie King is a Senior Research Fellow at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University. She obtained a Doctor of Psychology at Deakin University in 2001 and thereafter worked as a psychologist specialising in addictions. Inspired by the potential for population-level interventions to have impacts on mental health, in 2009 Dr King moved to a research role in the Melbourne School of Population in Global Health at the University of Melbourne.   Over the 10 years in that role she gained expertise in program evaluation and in more recent years applied these skills to suicide prevention research, with a focus on males. Her work now focuses on developing, implementing and evaluating interventions that can have positive impacts on men’s mental health and suicidality across the lifespan. She completed a PhD in this specialty area in early 2020.   In November 2019, Dr King joined the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash University as an Impact Fellow. In this role she is focussed on fostering research connections and collaborations with industry partners. With over 30 peer-reviewed publications, 40 commissioned reports, and over 20 presentations to local and international audiences, she is a researcher with a strong track record and is an emerging leader in suicide prevention research.
